Leighton - Linslade Children’s Trail ran a photo competition to celebrate World Book Day.

Children were asked to find their favourite book, and show off their favourite page in a photo shared to the trail’s Facebook page.

The winners, selected local children’s author Margaret Nash, were Lily Hazell of Mary Bassett Lower (The Faraway Tree) and William Kenny of Pulford Lower (Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book).

Both will receive a copy of The Complete Borrowers by Mary Norton (an author who was brought up in and inspired by Leighton Buzzard), a book of their choice by their favourite author, and a special notebook to let their own imagination flow.

The free trail is a public route of 22 artworks celebrating children’s stories for little people, with big imaginations, to explore. See https://www.facebook.com/ChildrensTrail. Maps can be picked up from the library.
