Comedy storms back to The Grove

Fresh line-up for first gig of the year at the Dunstable venue.

MORE great comedy in the comfortable surroundings of the Upper Foyer of The Grove on Thursday, February 11.

Hosted by guest compere Steve Allen the Barnstormers Comedy Night once again features top Comedy Storeand Jongleurs comedians.

Taking the mic this month is the uniquely talented Markus Birdman, the genuinely original Bennett Arron (the only Jewish/Welsh comedian in the country) and charismatic Tony Hendriks.

Previous shows have all sold out so best to book early.

Birdman is an up and coming stand-up based in London who has been performing at major venues around the world for the past decade. He will be compering a benefit at The Roundhouse, Camden, alongside, Phil Jupitus, The Blockheads Band and Sting in the near future

Bennett Arron delivers a cross between the paranoid angst of Max Boyce and the colloquial valley humour of Woody Allen.

He recently played the lead in his own sitcom script which was performed at the Riverside Studios and which has now gone into development with Hartswood Films.

Bennett is a past winner of both the TAPS Comedy Writer of the Year Award and the BBC Wales New Writer's Award, and he is a past finalist of the BBC New Comedy Awards.

Tony Hendriks is a household name on Jamaica TV, establishing himself through five seasons of a hit TV show and the award winning comedy revue Laugh Jamaica which he wrote, produced and starred in.

Tony moved to the UK where he has appeared as 'Uncle Bertie' in The Crouches (BBC1), won a Race In Media Award as co-host of I Love Carnival (BBC Radio London), and performed his multi-character, one-man play Brixton Road Portraits to packed houses all over the UK.

Tickets are available from the box office 01582 602080 or on-line www.grovetheatre.co.uk

Doors open at 7.30 and the show starts at 8.00.
