The Leighton Buzzard branch of Barclays Bank held a community fundraising day in support of the work of the town’s Citizen’s Advice Bureau.

With staff dressing up in festive clothing and a raffle due to be drawn the event certainly got everyone in the Christmas spirit.

Branch manager Ceri Evans said “It was fantastic to see the generosity of the Leighton Buzzard community during the festive period.

“Tony Drury offered his valuable time, engaging with customers and signing copies of his book with all donations going towards the Leighton-Linslade Citizen’s Advice Bureau.”

As a citizen of the Leighton Buzzard community for moret than 40 years, author Tony Drury was delighted to accept the invitation to take part and contributed to the day by giving away free copies of his novels to customers using the branch.

Generous customers made their own voluntary contributions which Tony then donated to the charity.

Tony said: “It was a lovely way to engage with the local community whilst helping a fantastic charity at the same time”.
