An event to give people living in Leighton-Linslade the opportunity to voice their views on the town has been hailed as ‘very positive’ following its meeting on Saturday.

The Town Council’s community forum saw 75 people attend, with a mixture of community groups, residents, councillors and South West Beds MP Andrew Selous who chaired the event.

Each group split was into different sectors - Healthy, Wealthy and Wise - with attendees given the opportunity to have their say and speak to experts.

All the comments and issues were taken down by a scribe which will be used to evaluate. while the public got involved in group discussions.

The community forum steering group will meet again after Easter to evaluate the feedback from the forum and then the Town Council and Central Beds Council will publish the outcomes form the report as well as provide an online feedback form for those or would like to leave additional feedback.

Jo Martindale of Leighton-Linslade Town Council said: “Overall the Community Forum Spokesperson Paul Niemiec was pleased with the outcome and the positive feedback from the visitors. More information will be available after the Steering group meet again and have the chance to evaluate all the comments and suggestions.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who attending the Community Forum on Saturday, including the experts, who took the time out of their Saturday morning to attend as this will make a difference in future.”
