The play area at Appenine Way, Leighton Buzzard, is undergoing a complete refurbishment , with new ‘supernova’ and ‘bird’s nest’ equipment as part of the new layout.
Work began last Tuesday and is planned to be ready for use in mid-May, weather permitting.
Central Beds Councillor Brian Spurr said: “The play area will be out of action for a few weeks but the new equipment is absolutely fantastic so should more than make up for the inconvenience!
“There will be a bird’s nest swing, which lots of youngsters can swing on at the same time, a spinning carousel, an obstacle course installation which you can climb on, swing from and practice your balance.”
“We want children in Central Bedfordshire to enjoy being active outside and we hope that they enjoy this brand new equipment.”
The old equipment will be removed at the same time.
