Police are hunting an arsonist who blazed a trail of destruction through Linslade in the early hours of today.
Wheelie bins, a tractor’s tarpaulin and a house were damaged after a series of small fires.
Leighton firefighter Pat Carberry said that the prompt action of the homeowners in Knaves Hill prevented flames from five wheelie bins damaging the house.
Shortly after 4.30am firefighters were called to Southcourt Road, Southcourt Avenue and Grasmere Way before returning to the area an hour later to tackle the house and bin blaze.
A spokesman for Beds Police urged the public to call 101 with any information.
