Families with autistic children in Leighton Buzzard are celebrating after receiving a donation from the Paradigm Foundation towards their social activity and support groups.

The Paradigm Foundation is a new initiative designed to improve the lives of individuals and communities across the geographic area in which Paradigm Housing Group operates.

Autism Bedfordshire applied for a grant to support their Loads of Autistic Fun (LOAF) project which provides an inclusive and supported environment for autistic children and their families – and were delighted to receive a £2,500 donation.

“This type of funding is vital to enable us to keep our groups running and it’s absolutely fantastic to get this support from the Paradigm Foundation,” says Gill Christmas, senior
funding officer at Autism Bedfordshire.

“Our families rely on the support we give them. As well as giving the children a safe environment to try out new activities, we encourage siblings to join in and it gives the parents a chance to share information and have a break while their children are well looked after.”

LOAF is for children up to the age of 12 and groups run every fortnight on Saturdays from 10am-1pm during term time at venues such as Southcott Lower School in Leighton Buzzard, plus Kempston, Biggleswade, and Luton.
