Following on from last year’s success, Leighton-Linslade Town Council’s Community Forum takes place next weekend.

On Saturday, March 22, the event will be chaired by Andrew Selous, MP, to give the public the opportunity to discuss issues in the town, which have been split into three topics – healthy, wealthy and wise. There will be a chance to hear the changes that have been made since the last meeting which saw 130 people attend and on the day there will be a graffiti wall for people to record any other local issues or suggestions not associated with the key themes.

The ‘wealthy’ topic will include discussions on the impact of poverty on families, homelessness and debt; ‘wise’ will feature education/skills, adult learning, and young people, while ‘healthy’ will focus on elderly facilities and resources, health, safety and welfare.

Rev Paul Niemiec said: “Please give an hour or two of your time on Saturday morning – combine it with a shopping trip. We won’t be able to change the world but we can influence decisions about our town. I look forward to welcoming you on Saturday, do bring your friends.

Feel free to arrive from 9.30am where there will be refreshments available at Leighton Buzzard Day Centre, on Duncombe Drive.
