Youngsters at a Leighton theatre school were dancing with delight when they got to perform in front of celebrity Jennifer Ellison and the ITV cameras .
When Leanne Hughes Theatre School entered the Mid Bucks Performing Arts Festival in Princes Risborough little did they realise they might end up on the small screen.
But after registering to take part they were soon told that ITV would be there filming for new show Dance Mums UK which will be aired later this year.
Former Brookside actress Jennifer is fronting the programme. She is an award-winning dancer and runs her own dance school, Fame Academy, in Liverpool.
Producers took footage of children from the Leanne Hughes Theatre School, based in Enterprise Way, performing their Jumpin’ Jive routine, which they also showed off at Leighton’s May Fayre this year.
A Leanne Hughes spokesman said: “It is a dance regularly performed when the school competes at dance competitions. This time we competed against the Jennifer Ellison Dance Academy in the Modern Group Inter 11-14 years section and were filmed for the show!
“With the cameras rolling and Jennifer Ellison herself sitting on the front row of the audience the pressure was on and the team performed their socks off and were absolutely delighted to be announced the winners of the section.
“The whole day was a bit surreal but Jennifer, the ITV crew, the dance mums and dancers themselves were all very friendly.”
The theatre school is busy working towards their next show The Old Fisherman’s Fable.
It will be held at Walton High School, Milton Keynes on Saturday, July 12 at 7pm and Sunday, July 13 at 1pm and 6pm.
All the pupils at the school perform in the show from the very youngest at three years old up to students of sixth form age. There will also be an adult class number.
