You have just another day to help Leighton children’s charity, Kidsout scoop a major cash prize in a major award.
KidsOut, has been nominated for a Talk Talk Digital Heroes award for its “unique and exciting project”, World Stories. The award recognises people who harness technology to bring about positive social change.
World Stories is an online collection of more than 130 short stories available in over 20 languages which teaches children about other cultures and helps with reading and writing.
More than 165,000 children have read the stories since the project began and winning the award could mean that KidsOut would get £10,000 to help develop World Stories further… but only if it gets enough votes.
Pam Haigh, project manager for World Stories, has also been nominated as one of three potential regional winners of a Digital Heroes award and if she wins the regional vote, the project will be awarded £5,000 to further develop the website.
All regional winners then go through to a national award with the chance to win a further £5,000.
The closing date for voting is tomorrow (Saturday) so help get a Leighton project through to the national finals!
Go to www.talktalkdigitalheroes.co.uk “Click on Voting Gallery, then on the map, click on the East of England, and vote for me, “ said Pam. “We really need loads of support if we are to become the regional winners and it would be great if a small Leighton Buzzard based charity could win this!
“We are really proud of World Stories and the fantastic work that it is doing to help children struggling at school.”
