Sixth form Cottesloe student Luke Pratt took part in the Bath Half Marathon.
This was Luke’s first half marathon, and having only just turned 17 he was one of the youngest competitors in the race. There were around 11,000 runners and Luke completed the run in a very respectable time of 1 hour 33 minutes (overall finisher number 915).
As part of a team which included his father and sister, Luke took part to raise money for Cancer Research UK. The team have so far raised an impressive £900 for this charity.
Luke says he has benefited over the years from the help and encouragement of teachers at the Cottesloe School to take up running, in particular his previous form teacher Mrs Markey, as well as Mr Inchley and Mrs Mayer who organise the school’s cross-country club, which inspired and nurtured his love of this sport.
