Ross Gregory, of Harrow Road, was two when he was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a form of eye cancer.

He wanted to raise £3,000 for the charity that supported him and his family when he was a child.

He said: “I had retinoblastoma when I was two and lost my eye from it.

“I am running for the charity as a thank you for the help they give to children and their families.

“I want to raise as much as possible for this great cause.”

The charity helps people affected by retinoblastoma, they provide support and information for families, fund research into the prevention and treatment of the cancer, raise awareness and influence policy to improve services for patients.

The social media and content executive completed the London marathon in four hours and 52 minutes.

He added: “It went well on Sunday, the crowd was amazing. I have ran 23 miles before but this was the first time I have done 27 miles.

“The crowd really helped me with the last four miles, I was really struggling, and they really helped, they were incredible.”
