Police go back into action to tackle rural crime

100 Days of Action

100 Days of Action

Police in the Aylesbury Vale are continuing their successful rural crime initiative, 100 Days of Action, with a blitz on villages near Leighton.

The operation is about half-way through and has seen officers cracking down on crime in the countryside throughout its region.

Between Saturday and next Wednesday the rural neighbourhood police teams, including Great Brickhill, Wing and Ivinghoe, will be taking part in a number of operations in the villages.

They will be visiting farms to hand out advice, security marking and meeting residents to talk about the issues that affect them.

Leading the operation locally will be rural neighbourhood inspector, James Davies.

He said: “Community officers will be taking part in a number of crime reduction initiatives around the Wing area and we will also be taking part in a number of proactive operations aimed at reducing rural crime and disrupting rural criminals.

“This is business as usual for what is a large and established rural Neighbourhood Police Team”
