More than 1,500 people visited the Summer Fayre and Fun Dog Show in Rushmere Country Park.
The public had the chance to enter their canines in the fun dog show, test themselves on some fun challenges and side shows, buy gifts from the arts and crafts stalls and make their own crafts.
Alexe Rose, senior development officer (community) at the Greensand Trust said: “A great time was had by all. We were overwhelmed by the number of entries for the dog show and Ark House Vets had a lot of wonderful pooches to choose from in each class.
“Congratulations to Max, accompanied by his owner Trina, who won Best in Show.
The Summer Fayre even had an unplanned fly-over by two Lancasters and a Vulcan! Highlights of the event include over 50 metres of bunting created for the Greensand Trust, visitors making their own pottery thanks to Eve’s Pottery studio, the many art and craft stalls and the Greensand Trust barbecue.
Alexe added: “I would like to thank all of the Greensand Trust staff and volunteers who helped with the event. Our thanks go to Ark House Vets and Dennes Country Stores for supporting the dog show and the local arts and crafts people with their stalls with beautiful gifts and information.
“Keep a look out for further events with the Greensand Trust. We hope to see you all at the Christmas Fair on December 7.”
All proceeds raised the the event last Sunday (August 24) will be reinvested into the park.
