Six golfers will raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support when they play 72 holes in one day.
Darren Burley, his brother Nick, Chris Kirby, Dan Moss, Grant Leeks and Jack White are to take on the challenge at Mentmore Golf and Country Club on Friday, June 27.
The group, who are all from the Leighton Buzzard area have been granted free use of the club’s two courses for the day – part of Macmillan’s Longest Day Golf Challenge.
Darren – who runs the Get up and Golf website for golfers who are looking for playing partners – said: “We all know each other through golf and are all mad keen on the sport.
“It will be quite a day - we’ll be starting at 4.30am and playing until 9pm.
“We will also be walking all the way and carrying our clubs – we’re not allowed to use any buggies!”
The golfers will be taking more than 300 shots each and are expected to walk more than 22 miles in total over the course of the day.
Darren added: “It’s a great cause and one that we are very happy to support. I would like to place on record my thanks to the club for being so generous is letting us use the two courses for the day.”
