Centre MK have donated 8,000 toys to Leighton-based charity KidsOut, which as well as providing a boost to youngsters for the Christmas just gone will also be used to spread happiness throughout 2014.

KidsOut is a fun and happiness charity which funds days out, toy boxes and emotional support for some of the most vulnerable children in the UK many of whom have been affected by domestic abuse.

The toys will go to many children this year, some of which are being supported by MK-ACT; a domestic violence charity for Milton Keynes, and without this generosity, KidsOut could not offer the support that they currently do.

Due to increasing costs, the charity is calling on local groups, schools, businesses and individuals to please think about those children. Many of the children arrive at domestic violence refuges across the UK with just a few clothes in a bag and nothing else. The gift of a toy helps them remember that they are loved and cared for and that they are still just a child.

A spokesman said: “This is where you can help change lives and above all give those who have lived in fear and violence in our country a sense of hope.”
