Top authors flock to BeaconLit festival

They’ll be joined by crime writers Alison Bruce, Tracy Buchanan, Fergus NcNeil and Dave Sivers, who will also offer a lunch time writers’ surgery with freelancer Sandra Smith and proof reader Jane Hammett.

And there are other treats in store – BBC Oxford news presenter Adina Campbell will chat to Amanda Jennings whose novel In Her Wake is one of the smash hits of 2016.

In addition historical fiction authors Emma Darwin and Liz Harris will be in conversation about new wyas of telling past lives.

The editor of Buckinghamshire Life and Berkshire Life, Janice Raycroft, will be talking about making a great magazine month after month and Milton Keynes poet laureate Mark Niel will be strutting his stuff at lunchtime.

Organiser Dave Sivers said: “It’s a great little festival, supporting an important cause in my community.

“BeaconLit is a really friendly event and we have a lot of fun every year. I’m looking forward to catching up with author pals, making new friends and being part of something exciting.”

There’s free parking just a short walk away on Ivinghoe lawn and light refreshments will be available.

But bring your own picnic if you’d rather.

The festival takes place at Brookmead School on Saturday (July 2) and promises to be a fabulous day out for readers, writers and all book lovers.

A full day pass will allow you to enjoy the whole programme for £25, with single event tickets also available.
