VIDEO: Enjoy Keith’s lights – and send a video clip of your own display

Waiting for Video...

Festive fundraiser Keith Siddle’s eyes light up when Christmas approaches – and so does his house!

The 51-year-old switched on his display on December 1 – the 11th year he has been spectacularly illuminating the exterior of his home.

Keith, of Highfield Road, was delighted after raising £235 last year for Leighton Buzzard Lions Club after his efforts were featured in the LBO.

Every year he adds a new feature to his display, and this year a 4ft snowman is gracing the front of the property.

He said: “For the last two years the amount raised has trebled because the lights were featured in the LBO.

“Even people I knew, or who lived on the estate, said they didn’t realise I was raising money for charity – even though I’ve got a 10ft banner outside.

“I have a tin with envelopes outside my house and people can just donate by putting some money in one and then putting it through my letterbox.”

> This Christmas we want our website leightonbuzzardonline.co.uk to be ‘lit-up’ by videos of the exterior of homes and gardens in LBO land illuminated with festivedecorations.

Like them or hate them they are becoming increasingly popular.

Many readers do it to simply cheer up their street and make people smile in austere times. Others are an annual extravaganzas which raise money for charity.

We’d like our readers to submit a short video clip (15 seconds) of their own house lit up. Send us your pictures too of course.

Once your decorations are out why not whip out your mobile phone, take some footage and email it to news@lbobserver.co.uk.

Alternatively if your file is too large to email use a video sending website such as

And if you’re not techically minded just call the LBO newsdesk on 01582 798512 and we’ll be happy to help.

Call us too if you see some great decorations you believe should be featured in our round-up.

Once we’ve gathered together all the clips, the LBO staff will decide whose are the best.

There’s no prize for the winner, other than the glory of appearing on our website – and in a special festive lights feature just before Christmas in the paper.
