Cracking The Merchant of Venice at Bletchley Park

Shakespeare under the stars in grounds of historic house.

Mystery, drama, romance and comedy are all in abundance when one of Shakespeare's most exciting plays, The Merchant Of Venice, is performed in the grounds of Bletchley Park this month.

The Chapterhouse Theatre Company, who are regulars at Woburn Abbey, are bringing open-air theatreto the venue on August 22. It is a great opportunity for family and friends to get together to watch some magical theatre while picknicking in the grounds.

The Merchant of Venice is recognised as one of Shakespeare's most exciting plays in which the love for money and human passion collide.

Meet the infamous Shylock as Chapterhouse brings Bassanio's quest to court the lovely Portia to life with music, dance, stunning costumes and picturesque scenery.

Passions of money and love collide dramatically as Shakespeare's lovers are finally able to celebrate their love.

The show starts at 7.30pm but the gates open at 5.30pm for picnickers. Bring your own rugs, low-back seating – and a jumper for later in the evening.
