Waste that was flytipped on the edge of Bluebell Woods in Linslade did include asbestos – Central Beds Council has confirmed.

The dumped material was spotted on the side of the layby at the entrance to the woods on Stoke Road by locals who suspected it may contain asbestos.

A spokesman for Central Beds Council said: “The site was inspected yesterday (Tuesday) and logged with our waste contractor who will be removing it this afternoon (Wednesday).

“I can confirm that some of the waste did contain asbestos.”
