An intruder attempting to force his way into a house in Tebworth was stopped in his tracks when the homeowner disturbed him.

After being awoken by an automatic security light, the man, who lives on Wingfield Road, spotted someone trying to break in and quickly shouted at the offender before he ran from the scene with two other men.

It happened on March 4 at around 1am and the officer in charge of this investigation, Detective Constable Surfraz Hussain, is keen to trace anyone who saw three men acting suspiciously in the area prior to the incident or anyone who saw three men running from the area that night who were wearing gloves and hoods.

Anyone with information relating to this crime can contact DC Hussain, at Luton Police Station, in confidence, on 01582 394435, or Bedfordshire Police on 101, or text information to 07786 200011.

Alternatively you can contact the independent crime fighting charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
