Calls come in following appeal into 1994 murder

Police are investigating several calls which came in following the 20th anniversary appeal into the brutal murder of a bookmaker from Leighton,

John Sheppard, 66, of Steppingstone Place, was stabbed to death as he worked at John Horwood bookmakers in Aylesbury on the evening of Saturday December 3, 1994.

Despite a high-profile appeal at the time, John’s killer has never been found. Now 20 years on, police have reopened the cold case and since the reappeal on December 3 say they have received several calls which they are following up.

However, the police are still urging the public to get in touch with any information about the case .
