For some the idea that your every move is being watched doesn’t bode well; but in Leighton Buzzard surveillence of the area has proven to be successful.
Between the beginning of June and end of August, it has been revealed that CCTV played a vital part in securing the arrest of ten offenders in the town.
Three people were arrested for criminal damage at the Black Lion on North Street, while two men wanted for burglary were caught on camera on the High Street.
Other offences included a female being drunk and disordly, a fight in which a man breached his bail conditions and a male assaulting a female.
Tonight, Leighton-Linslade town councillors will discuss the CCTV report from Central Beds Council at their Police Liason Subcomittee at The White House, Hockliffe Street from 7.30pm.
