A four-man gang gained entry to a Leighton Buzzard home and removed a safe containing cash and jewellery.
The burglary happened at around 10.45am on Thursday, September 19 when the men entered the property after knocking on the front door in Plantation Road.
They said they were from the Immigration Service and pushed past the occupant as she opened the door. The men demanded to be shown the location of a safe and any Asian jewellery.
One of the men watched over the two women in the home whilst the others made a messy search of the property.
The intruders located a safe containing cash and Asian jewellery and dragged it to a waiting black vehicle on the drive before making off.
Det Con Richard Cunningham wants to speak to anyone who saw the men making off or possibly hanging around Plantation Road.
All of the men were white and spoke with an Irish accent. The man who watched over the victims was white with dark hair. He wore a light blue shirt, blue jeans and Fred Perry shoes.
Det Con Cunningham: “I would appeal to anyone who may have been offered Asian jewellery or noticed an abandoned safe. If you can help identify those responsible for this crime please contact the police. I am keen to speak to anyone who saw anyone hanging around Plantation Road on Thursday morning or a black vehicle behaving suspiciously.”
