Home burgled as owner slept

A home in Vandyke Road, Leighton Buzzard was burgled while the owner was asleep upstairs.

The first the victim knew of the intrusion was when they woke the next morning to find their front door open.

Beds Police say the incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday (June 29).

A spokesman said: “A wallet and purse were stolen. Anyone with information or who noticed suspicious activity in the area is asked to call police on 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

The victim posted on social media: “Be wary in Vandyke Road. Had a break in last night whilst asleep upstairs. Very professional only wallet and purse stolen and woke up to an open front door.”
