Police in Leighton have arrested a 20-year-old woman from the town on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to supply.

She was arrested yesterday after a raid at a house in Baker Street and uncovered a cannabis factory.

The woman was later released on police bail pending further investigation.

Det Insp Sandra Evans, leading the inquiry, has called on the public to inform on drugs dealers.

She said: “Drug taking and drug dealing has long been linked to other types of crime such as burglary, robbery and theft.

“Beds Police will not tolerate any kind of criminal activity and will continue to tackle these problems using all the equipment and specialist expertise available to us.

“We will continue to crack down on people who deal in drugs - putting fear back into the criminal fraternity.”

Anyone with information should call Beds Police on 101, text information to 07786 200011 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
