Thomas McCarthy, 24, of Slapton Road, Little Billington, was initially charged with the murder of Patrick Maloney, 43, at Toddbury Farm.

This charge has since been withdrawn and he has been re-charged with causing Mr Maloney actual bodily harm.

Today, his brother Christopher McCarthy, 21, of the same address, appeared at Luton Crown Court charged with murder.

Both men have been remanded into custody pending a further court hearing on September 16 and a provisional trial date has been set for January 2017.

A post mortem examination revealed Mr Maloney died as a result of multiple crushing injuries consistent with being involved in a collision with a vehicle.

A 42-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder is currently on bail and is due to return to court on September 14.
