Thieves who tricked a woman into turning her back while they stole from her in Leighton are being hunted by Beds Police.

CCTV images have been released of four people they want to speak with in connection to a number of distraction thefts around the county.

The four people pictured have been linked with two incidents in Biggleswade and one in Leighton Buzzard when a woman who had been shopping in Waterborne Walk’s Waitrose had her bank cards stolen by distraction thieves.

It happened on January 16, when the victim was approached by a women who said there was a ‘hissing’ noise coming from her front tyre.

When the car owner went to investigate her cards were stolen from her handbag which was left on her shopping trolley and the thieves then used the cards to withdraw £600 of cash.
