A gang of up to eight men are being hunted by police following a street robbery in Leighton Buzzard.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident in Nelson Road on Saturday (February 13).

Two men were talking in the street at approximately 9.15pm when they were approached by the group of men who assaulted them and stole a phone.

There were believed to be between six and eight offenders who are described as wearing dark coloured clothing, aged between 16 and 19 years old, with a range of ethnicities.

PC Jenny Buckley, investigating, said: “This was a completely unprovoked attack on two innocent individuals.

“I’m appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who believes they may have seen this group in Leighton Buzzard throughout the evening, to contact us.”
