The school’s Festival Team have been competing in back to back competitions since February with some amazing results.

They are now thrilled to announce that they qualified an astounding 121 dances (69 solos, 27 duets, 9 trios, 2 quartets and 14 groups) for the All England Regional Semi Finals which were held in Stevenage and ran until Saturday, May 30.

Some of the talented dancers performed at the Leighton-Linslade May Day Fayre and they have also been invited to appear in both nights performances at The Grove’s GD1 dance showcase in Dunstable on Monday and Tuesday this week (June 4 and 5).

They are also competing in two competitions in Nuneaton and Princes Risborough during May and June and the whole dancing school is now busy rehearsing for their annual show.

This year is it The Riddler’s Curse and will again be held at Walton High School, Milton Keynes, with three performances over the weekend of July 11 and 12.

All the pupils at the school perform in the show from the very youngest at three years old up to students of sixth form age - there is even a very popular, not to be missed, adult class number!

Dances are performed in all genres including tap, ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary, musical theatre and commercial.

A school spokeswoman said: “Everyone loves show term, learning new dances and getting to wear fabulous costumes – there is a real buzz at the LHTS studios in Enterprise Way at the moment.”

If you would like tickets to the show or for more information about the show or school visit the LHTS website at www.lhtheatreschool.co.uk or contact Janice on 07872 589800 or Fiona on 01525 210695.

Meanwhile, more success is celebrated as the school’s Daniella Harris won the Miss Dance heat at Luton Festival of Dance and now goes to the final in Blackpool on June 7, the first time LHTS has had an entry in this national contest.
