Cottesloe School’s GCSE English results were released on January 9. A total of 119 Year 11 students at the Wing school took their English examination in November 2013, with 97% (115 students) achieving a grade C or above; with over 22% (26 students) achieving a grade A or better.
Headteacher Andy McBurnie credited the success to the dedication of students and the English department at the school.
“I am extremely proud of our students and I would like to congratulate them on their achievements.
“Many will be joining our sixth form and I expect them to be equally successful in their summer examinations in their other subjects.”
Mr McBurnie added: “I am also proud of the teachers who have worked so hard to improve the quality of teaching and learning and to inspire students to succeed.
“This is an exciting time for The Cottesloe School and we are confident that we will continue to build on this success and to raise attainment.”
