LINSLADE’S Dean Dibsdall has his blue eyes set on the final of Channel 4’s Playing It Straight after after making it through round five (the art round) of the eight-part series.

Dean almost blew his chances in the reality dating prog, that goes out on E4 on Monday nights and Channel 4 the following Saturdays, when he was spotted with his arm around Essex-boy, and fellow contender, Danny as the pair enjoyed a trip to the Salvador Dali Museum.

The contestants, who are all trying to win a £50,000 prize and the girl by masking their sexuality, were then given the task of showing their artistic bent by drawing two life models.

Comedian Alan Carr, who does the often risque voiceover for the programme, saw Dean’s efforts and declared: “ Dean you need glasses!”

Dean, from Knaves Hill, admitted that “I can’t draw” but his Dali-inspired charcoal of the nudes, got him a stay of execution.

He then had to slip into drag and lip-sync to It’s Raining Men before being probed by two Spanish drag queens. One later suggested that Dean, or Deanne, who works as a farrier, may be bisexual.

Despite the continual reservations of looking-for-love blonde beauty Carla, 27, she kept both Dean and Danny in the $3m Spanish hacienda where the programme was filmed.
