Family fun evening at MK Gallery

Make a big noise at free event.

Milton Keynes Gallery is holding a special summer evening of art, music, food and family participation on Friday next week (Aug 6) from 5-7.30pm. It's free and open to all ages (though children must be with a responsible adult.)

There will be body percussion, costume creations, ballet workshops, piano playing, balloons and an area for toddlers to get creative.

Complimentary snacks and soft drinks will be provided, and live bands will be playing in Margaret Powell Square.

Milton Keynes Gallery has a history of presenting popular and award-winning family days.

Speaking of the new Family Evening, Emma Fry, the gallery's new head of education, said: "This summer, we wanted to try something a bit different.

"Instead of our usual separate summer workshops for children in different age ranges we decided we'd present one, much larger, free event, which we hope many more people can participate in."

The evening's activities have thematic links with the Gallery's current exhibition, THE THE THINGS IS (FOR 3), which continues until September 12. The exhibition includes a fully functioning band kit and a grand piano that visitors are allowed to play.

Milton Keynes Gallery in on Midsummer Boulevard, right next to the theatre.
