A quiz night organised by a Leighton mum has raised more than £600 for KidsOut and Breast Cancer Now.

The event was held at Leighton Town Football Club and the money will be split between KidsOut and Breast Cancer Now.

It was organised by Weight Watchers leader Alison Johnson, who said: “I’ve been overwhelmed by the support we received.

“I’m so thankful to the many local businesses who provided prizes and to our quiz master, Jeff Hewitt, who wrote the questions and gave his time free of charge. Also to everyone who dug deep on the night to ensure we raised an amazing total, beating our target by more than £100.”

KidsOut spokeswoman Alice Capper said; “It was a brilliant evening with loads of people and a great atmosphere. We’d like to thank Alison for all her hard work.

“Our share of the money wll be spent on children in need of fun and happiness in the local area.”

The winning team - Sand Dobbers on Tour - celebrated with their Prosecco prize.
