A teenager from Heath and Reach has inspired everyone around him by compiling a calendar of prized photographs.
My Inspiration features the favoured snaps of professional and amateur photographers alike, as well as those taken by its creator.
It was devised by Harvey Jones, 16, to raise much-needed cash for the PACE Centre for children with motor neurone disorders, where his cousin Laura attends.
Harvey said: “It meant a lot to me to help them, obviously they’re a charity and they struggle a lot with money.
“I put a post up on Facebook and emailed people asking for any pictures that they would want to put on it. It’s called My Inspiration and that’s what I asked for.
“It was a lot of hard work because I had to get the sponsors and then I had to sell my calendars - that was probably the hardest thing.”
Harvey was a pupil at Oak Bank school, and continues to do a lot of voluntary work through them. At the moment he is working towards his Gold Level Arts Award, paving the way for higher education.
His proud mum Jackie says they had a tough time at other schools before Oak Bank, and she had nothing but praise for its hard-working teachers.
She said: “It’s just phenomenal the work they do to make sure children reach their potential. Harvey has got a real gift for photography, it’s therapeutic with instantaneous results.”
Three other children at Oak Bank have been inspired to take up photography thanks to Harvey. He was sponsored by MK Tyres to make the calendar, and so far has raised over £300.
