A Leighton mum recovering from Guillain Barre Syndrome is so unhappy with the treatment she received at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital that she has sent in a formal catalogue of complaints.

Jenny Bone, 39, of Sandhills says a letter from her doctor suggesting she may have contracted the rare condition was ignored and she was treated as a time waster by everyone from the ambulance service to the ward staff.

Because of the resulting delay in appropriate treatment, she claims she suffered an hypoxic brain injury. She says this has left her with short term memory problems and unable to function at the same level she did before.

Mrs Bone, who is back at work as a government building surveyor, told the LBO: “I have difficulty concentrating and my confidence to attend meetings or give presentations has gone.”

A Luton & Dunstable spokesman said: “We are currently investigating the concerns raised and have confirmed with Mrs Bone that we will share the outcome of the investigation with her.”

> The LBO carried Jenny Bone’s story in a front page exclusive last week. It was subsequently picked up by the national press.
