Health experts will be in Leighton Buzzard later this month to answer residents’ questions about the NHS Bedfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (BCCG).
It’s been nearly a year since the BCCG took over health service commissioning in the county and on Tuesday, February 25 advisors from the BCCG’s Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) will be at the town council’s White House offices between 11am and 4pm to answer local questions about the new organisation, try to resolve any queries and issues and offer assistance with the NHS complaints process.
PALS works closely with staff within BCCG and other local NHS organisations to resolve concerns quickly and efficiently, provide information on NHS services and enable patients and the public to get involved in shaping local NHS services.
They can also offer information about local and national support agencies. The PALS team will attempt to resolve complaints and concerns or offer advice on the formal NHS complaints process.
Peter Howard, BCCG’s Head of PALS, Complaints and FOI, said: “Patients, relatives and carers occasionally need on-the-spot advice and support and PALS is here to help. We aim to resolve concerns quickly and efficiently, provide information on NHS services and enable patients and the public to get involved in shaping local NHS services.”
To contact PALS call 01525 864405 (8.30am-5pm, Monday to Friday) or email PALS@bedfordshireccg.nhs.uk.
