AN exhibition of print by Latvian artists who are either current or former University of Bedfordshire students goes on show tomorrow.

‘Transition/Pãreja’, an exhibition by four Latvian printmakers, will be opened by the university’s vice chancellor, Professor Les Ebdon, and the Latvian cultural attaché, Eduards Stiprais, this evening (April 26).

It runs until May 24 and takes place at the university’s Gallery Space in Park Square, Luton.

The four artists – Zane Aldere, Liva Cabule, Nelda Karklina and Laima Vanaga – are exhibiting four prints each on the theme of Transition.

Colin Davies, head of art and design, said: “Today printmaking belongs to worlds of both design and art and this exhibition brings together these two, often conflicting, disciplines.”

Members of the public are invited to the exhibition opening from 6pm until 8pm this evening, where there will be Latvian food, beer and music.
