Leighton students don't stop believing in Musical Theatre High!

Drama workshop stages hit TV show Glee.

ASPIRING Leighton drama students went in new directions to perform excerpts from the hit TV series Glee during the fourth Musical Theatre High! Workshop held in the town last week.

The two-day class, run by West End star and Linslade old boy, Richard Reynard, was attended by 34 enthusiastic students who entered into the spirit of the award-winning E4 show.

Richard was joined by guest teacher Annalisa Rossi, who is currently appearing in the West End musical, Sweet Charity.

Together they took the young performers through a two-day workshop held at Vandyke Upper School.

They learned songs, routines and scenes from the popular series before putting on a show for their friends and family.

Afterwards Richard, who recently starred in the London production of Blood Brothers, said: "I have been blown away by the talent of the students and how quickly they learned the specially adapted version of the show."

The next workshop in the October half-term will be a Wicked workshop with one of the West End show's leading ladies, and fellow Linslade girl made good, Louise Dearman, as guest teacher.

"A scholarship for the next classes went to Hannah Cook and Joseph Paterson, who both showed a natural flair and passion for theatre, really shining in the final showcase," added Richard.
