A bumper festive season for Smiley Sam

Smiley Sam raised more than �35,000 for the hospice

There were grins galore at Keech Hospice Care when Smiley Sam’s festive takings were counted.

The charity’s much loved Christmas float raised more than ever before – a staggering £35,000 that will help care for adults and children with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Smiley Sam sets off on November 29 and covers more than 1,300 miles in the lead-up to December 25.

During the day he visits supermarkets in Beds, Herts and Bucks and in the evenings he travels various routes around Luton.

In the 17 years since Smiley Sam first took to the road, he has made more than £371,288 – with a little help from a loyal band of volunteers.
