A Leighton Buzzard-based author has released a new book which she hopes will help young children explore their emotions.
Emotional Problem Solving using Stories, Drama and Play is the third publication by Joan Moore who wants to communicate with youngsters aged five to 12 to give them the best possible start in life.
She said: “As a playtherapist, dramatherapist, and working at an adoption support agency I’ve found the most effective way to communicate with children is through creative activity in which they can rehearse situations, anticipate what might happen and try out new ways of being.”
“I wrote this book to encourage teachers and parents to involve children in creative, imaginative play, drama and story-telling in which they can explore their feelings, feel understood and have fun so they can make best use of opportunities and enjoy life as much as possible.”
The book was published by Hinton House and is available on their website for £29.99.
