Big Brother is watching you

editorial image

Dodgy drivers cannot escape being watched thanks to cameras being set up on Leighton streets that are being used as a “weapon” to catch those of interest to the police.

Big Brother may be starring on TV screens at the moment, but the nameless, faceless, always watching eye is firmly fixed on Central Bedfordshire, with three sets of automated number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras in a bid to make the region safer.

The cameras have been introduced in locations that were identified as important road networks used to travel in and out of and through Leighton Buzzard, Linslade and Clophill as part of an intelligence-led, crime-fighting and road safety scheme.
