Canal trip for youth club volunteers

editorial image

Volunteers from Pages Park Youth Club took a group of children from the club on a two hour canal trip on Wednesday.

Despite living in a town that the canal runs through, most of the children had not been on a narrow boat before.

The trip was funded by a grant from Leighton-Linslade Town Council.

The boat, Dicks Folly, is owned by the South West Herts Narrowboat Project, which is a charity that operates out of Hunton Bridge and aims to give community and youth groups access to the waterways. (It is also available for children’s birthday parties!)

Pages Park Youth Club is based in the pavilion in Pages Park and is open on Wednesday evenings from 6 - 7.30pm.

It is open to children from eight to 14 years old and costs £1 a session.

New members are welcome. It’s fine to come along just to see what happens.
