A black and white cat was left with limited air supply when it was abandoned in a sealed box outside a Leighton Buzzard vets at the weekend.

Five-year-old Simba was found dumped outside the back door of Ark House Vets on Hockliffe Street with no food or water.

Vet Kate Semple said: “We were absolutley shocked. There is just no excuse to treat an animal in that way.

“We mostly have happy stories to share, but occasionally we are saddened and shocked by how some people treat their pets.

“Fortunately, one of our nurses went outside and discovered her before we finished for the day. If not we suspect she would not have survived the weekend.

“She’s doing well now, but she really deserves a loving forever home, so if anyone is interested please give us a call.

“Words fail us really. Pets are for life, and if circumstances change there are many organisations that can help. There’s never any reason to dump a pet in such a way.”
