Cedars on-line to beat cyber bullies
New mentoring scheme to aid victims of bullies.
CEDARS is one of the first schools in the country to have trained CyberMentors who will be able to support victims of bullying throughout the country via a secure website, www.cybermentors.org.uk.
Using discussion, role-play and, on-line exercises, trainers from Beat Bullying spent last Wednesday at the school working with nineteen students from Years 11, 12 and 13, showing them how they could help young people beat the bullies.
The initiative presents the opportunity for victims of bullying to talk to a mentor on-line or through emails.
As well as providing support for the victims of bullying, trained counsellors are available to support and supervise the mentors themselves.
The scheme will extend the work already done at Cedars by the school's anti-bullying group.
