HOLD the front page! Cedars students have been branching out into journalism with their own section on a BBC website.
Cedars was taking part in the BBC School Report, an annual project involving hundreds of schools, that allows them space on the BBC News website.
Students from Year 9 filed reports on school, local, national, and international news.
"This has been very exciting for all the pupils and staff involved, said Colette Goring-Farrow, the head of Year 9.
"They have all learned so much more about what is going on around them right now. They have worked really hard and I am very proud of them".
Cedars was the only school in the town to take part in the initiative.
The press gang was involved in a record breaking attempt to take part in the biggest interactive weather report. The temperature – a nippy five degrees - was witnessed by Alex Fry of Harper's Gym.
Pupils worked mainly in pairs, using new-found journalistic skills to report on a variety of topics including sport, potholes, Mother's Day, Sports Relief, cyber-bullying, and much more.
