Dementia care service introduced

A new Dementia Care Advisory Service to help people living with Dementia and their carers is being introduced in Buckinghamshire this month.

Buckinghamshire County Council and NHS Buckinghamshire will work with Age UK to provide the wide-ranging advice service across the county to support people with dementia, as there is an estimated that 6000 people have dementia in Buckinghamshire with the number predicted to rise to 9000 by 2025, an increase of 44 per cent.

Bucks Council believe only a third of those living with the condition, particularly in its early stages, are diagnosed and receiving the proper support.
