Shortly after filing for divorce, a mum-of-three had a dream that changed her life forever – by allowing her to see life after love.
After growing up in Leighton, former Vandyke Upper student Tiffany Ballinger left her Plantation Road home to work for Universal Studios in Florida.
It was there that Tiffany, whose dad Dave is the drummer in Leighton’s famous band The Barron Knights, met an American man who she went on to marry – but unfortunately, 15 years later, they decided to divorce.
Tiffany, who kept her married name, Beverlin, said: “My divorce was a dark and dismal time for me and during this period I had a dream that I was unable to sell my engagement ring, but that I could sell it on my own website.”
Dreams Recycled – Life After Love sells wedding and engagement rings, wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, prom dresses and unwanted or duplicate wedding gifts online, so that sellers can be free of their past.
In the first six months Tiffany’s website had 20,000 users and has since appeared in newspaper articles, TV and radio shows all around the world.
Tiffany said: “My life has totally changed I went from being an unemployable stay at home mother-of-three to being CEO of my own successful business.
“No-one else had thought of this idea because divorce is still a taboo subject that we whisper about behind our hands to others. Dreams Recycled is to change this perception of divorce as it’s now a fact of life for many families.
“We celebrate the moving on and letting go of this sad time and look forward and plan for our future happiness and dreams.”
