The blaze that took hold of a commercial site in Wing yesterday is finally under control after more than 30 firefighters battled against the flames - but the risk of explosion remains.
Bucks fire crews say they won’t remove their appliances from the scene of Cublington Road until there is confirmation that the acetylene cylinders are no longer a threat.
One man was treated for smoke inhalation after the fire broke out at the single-storey industrial unit at around 3.30pm.
A 150-metre cordon was put in place around the scene while firefighters used ground monitors and fixed jets to bring the fire under control, but crews confirmed the site was completely destroyed by the flames.
Bucks Fire and Rescue said: “Fire officers reassessed scene today and identified at least six acetylene cylinders and variety of other gas cylinders.
“Appliances will remain on site overnight and will not leave until it is confirmed that the cylinders are safe.”
