A Leighton male model is trying to engineer success in this year’s Liverpool Fashion and Beauty Awards.
Dan Francis, 31 has been campaigning for votes since he was nominated for Male Model of the Year after being spotted at the previous year’s awards ceremony where he was the face of the male tanning range nouvatan/nouvaman.
Dan’s been in the modelling business for approximately a year, in which time he has modelled for national publications such as Attitude magazine, for the front cover of VanityHype magazine, and even been displayed on the front cover of an American romance novel.
He is currently supported by NRGFuel sports and supplements.
As well as being a model, Dan works for The Vale of Aylesbury Trust as a gas engineer.
Modelling runs in his household as Dan’s girlfriend is former carnival queen and Miss Bedfordshire contestant Hazel Calvert. The couple live in Hockliffe Road and have a 14-month-old son Cody.
Dan previously attended Vandyke Upper School and grew up on Russell Way. He also currently trains at Anytime Fitness gym.
Dan said: “It’s completely surreal, I didn’t expect to get nominated at all I just got an email to tell me to get campaigning.
“I love modelling, I always wanted to do it when I was younger but I’m realistic – I don’t throw all my eggs into one basket, I’ve got a family to support”.
The Liverpool Fashion and Beauty Awards is a black tie event that will take place on July 12 at the Plaza Hotel in Liverpool and will be hosted by Simon Glazin, Cosmopolitan’s award-winning blogger of the year and fashion journalist for the Daily Mail.
Big brands such as ASOS and New Look will be included at the event. The evening’s winners will receive a complimentary platform at the Liverpool Fashion Week later this year.
